How does the Backtags rating system work?Backtags collects the total amount of bookmarks for any domain across the top leading social bookmarking services. This data is then summarized resulting in a total score (Total amount of bookmarks or references) for any given domain. The results are then normalized to provide a ranking of all websites. This "social ranking" gives an indication of the popularity of a website as determined by the user. The theory behind this is - If a large number of users use a particular keyword/tag or range of keywords/tags to describe their perception of the content of a site then this site is more relevant for these keywords or tags than others. |

What does the Tag Ranking mean?Backtags collects the tags from various social bookmarking services and then aggregates the tags per domain.
